Omniscreen takes to the screen in Vegas

An Australian developed software solution for enterprise IPTV and digital signage applications will be launched globally this month at the InfoComm 2014 conference in Las Vegas.

The  Omniscreen Pilot, developed by CombiTel is an enterprise television and digital signage application server that is adaptable as a cloud based SaaS offering.

The solution has applications across the corporate, resources, government and health sectors and was developed in Melbourne by an in-house software and product development team in response to the market demand for innovation and flexible media management and delivery solutions. The enterprise centric solution was initially launched commercially in Australia in 2012  and is now ready to take on the international market for enterprise grade quality streaming content applications.

Corporate and enterprise users have traditionally had difficulties in sourcing scalable and adaptable IPTV solutions that are flexible to their particular industry needs, said Eugene Razbash, CEO of Combitel.

“Enterprises should not been forced  to adapt consumer oriented IPTV solutions that are not geared to the distinct needs of enterprise content delivery,” he said. The Omniscreen solutions provides all the front end accessibility of consumer facing interfaced with all the back end smart and scalability required to deploy a cost effective solution that can be tailored to suit bespoke industry needs.

In Australia, the Omniscreen solution has enjoyed traction with the health and aged care sector which is increasingly demanding high end video based solutions which include live stream and information based streaming and on-demand video experiences.

Razbash added that this rapidly growing sector that requires sophisticated and often tailored solutions needs to be easy to use for both residents and health care staff and be able to be deployed and both single and multi site dwellings.

For users it features remote control designed to minimise pain to those that may not be fully mobile such as arthritis sufferers.  The Omniscreen Pilot solutions includes live TV and Pay TV distribution with EPG  and can be screened across multi platforms such as TV, PC, tablet, smartphone.

It also features content sharing facilities for personalised content such as video and photo sharing. Integration with Microsoft Active Directory integration is also available on request. Razbash added that the corporate and government sectors are also rising in demand for solutions where real time information and messaging can be screened and participation can be monitored.
